ACT: Lunchtime recital at St John's
12:30St John's Anglican Church, Reid
This 45-minute event will comprise a varied programme of “Music we enjoy playing (and hope you enjoy hearing!)”. This may be music by a favourite composer, or music that is simply good fun to play or sing!
The organ music will include:
• Two Preludes and Fugues by Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707)
• Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland chorale prelude by J S Bach (1685-1750)
• Toccata from Suite Gothique by Léon Boëllmann (1862-1897)
• Crown Imperial by William Walton (1902-1983)
• Test Drive from: How to train your dragon by John Powell (b.1963)The choristers will sing:
• Benedictus from The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins (b.1944)
• Never Weather-Beaten Sail by Thomas Campion (1567-1620)
• A lively setting of the Gloria, in Spanish, by Stefano Vasselli (b. 1969)One thing is for sure: you won’t have heard an RSCM recital with greater variety than this!
