Hymn Text Introductions: Lorraine Macknight
Organist: Robert AmptLorraine Macknight, a Canberra–based church organist, currently plays regularly for four churches (Anglican, Uniting Church and Lutheran). She has a particular interest in Catherine Winkworth, a well–known 19th century translator of German hymns.
Robert Ampt has just retired after 44 years as the Sydney City Organist, where he was the creator of Sydney’s biggest annual Lessons and Carols service—Christmas at the Sydney Town Hall. He is also the organist and choir trainer for the annual Music of J.S. Bach and Readings for Good Friday at St Finbar’s Catholic Church, Glenbrook. He is the Organist/Choir Master at Sydney’s German Lutheran Church where the traditional style of hymn introduction and accompanying is maintained.Admission Free
